The Leap
An idea for a creature in the world I've had in mind for some time. At some point I'd like to go into detail explaining more of the conditions of the planet. This guy spends the vast majority of his life on the ground, only spreading his wings to fly when completely necessary in order to migrate across bodies of water. His skin has formed in a way as to create maximum surface area, since this is the organ he uses to "see". Receptors in the skin detect infrared and sound waves. This helps to detect both predators and incoming harsh changes in the weather.
I started with a drawing, then sculpted it in Z-brush, and finally took that into Photoshop. I'll post the Z-brush model soon :)

Aaaanother Alien... and not likely the last
I included my drawing on this one too since I scanned it in and just played colouring book on Photoshop for the finished piece. Tried to colour inside the lines...

Mulambitus
I was just having a play painting a marine creature and rather liked how it came out :) I think this guy could come out on to land if he pleased, but is much more adept at getting around underwater...

Terrakan; nomadic rider
This is the rider of the beast in my previous post, "The Move". He comes from a very cold climate and withstands abrasive weather conditions whilst leading the way for this nomadic race.

The Move
I posted a bit of my thought process for this one. I started with some silhouette ideas for riding beasts and then moved to grey tones with numbers 3, 6, and 8 before I decided which creature I wanted to go with :)

Demon Daughter 1 of 10: Datsu Issaishujo Shoke or Robber of the Vital Spirit of All Living Beings
There is a Buddhist legend of the 10 Demon Daughters in the Lotus Sutra. In the legend, these 10 Demon Daughters vow to protect the practitioners of the Lotus Sutra. They symbolize protective forces in one's environment that come to their aid as an effect of the causes they've made to uphold the dignity inherent in all life. I thought it was such a cool metaphor to explain this concept, and my imagination went wild ;)
