Demon Daughter 1 of 10: Datsu Issaishujo Shoke or Robber of the Vital Spirit of All Living Beings

 

There is a Buddhist legend of the 10 Demon Daughters in the Lotus Sutra.  In the legend, these 10 Demon Daughters vow to protect the practitioners of the Lotus Sutra.  They symbolize protective forces in one's environment that come to their aid as an effect of the causes they've made to uphold the dignity inherent in all life. I thought it was such a cool metaphor to explain this concept, and my imagination went wild ;)
